Alisa Hotel
You know what struck me first about the Alisa Hotel?
You know what struck me first about the Alisa Hotel? It’s tucked right on Mariánskolázeňská street, which honestly puts you in this sweet spot where you’re close enough to hear the gentle hum of Karlovy Vary’s spa district but far enough that you’re not dealing with crowds of tourists shuffling past your window at 7 AM. I mean, you can actually walk to the main colonnade in maybe five minutes, but when you step outside, it feels more like you’re staying in a neighborhood that locals actually use.
The building itself has this understated charm – it’s a 4-star place that doesn’t try too hard to impress you with flashy lobbies or over-the-top everything. Instead, it sort of grows on you. The rooms are genuinely comfortable (I stayed there twice last year), and there’s this attention to detail that you notice after a day or two. Like, the shower pressure is actually decent – which, let’s be honest, can be hit or miss in Czech spa towns. The staff really knows the area too, not just the obvious tourist spots but the good stuff. When I asked about where to grab coffee that wasn’t tourist-priced, the front desk guy immediately pointed me toward this little place on Zámecký vrch that I never would’ve found otherwise.
What I really appreciate is how the hotel sits in the whole Karlovy Vary experience. You’re staying somewhere that feels connected to the town’s rhythm rather than isolated from it. In the morning, you can hear the church bells from St. Mary Magdalene, and if you get a room facing the right direction, you catch glimpses of the castle hill through the windows. The 8.3 rating makes sense to me – it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in town, but everything works well, the location is genuinely useful, and you end up feeling like you made a smart choice rather than just booking whatever showed up first online. Plus, parking isn’t the nightmare it can be in some parts of the old town, which honestly matters more than people realize when you’re hauling luggage around after a long drive through the Czech countryside.
The concierge service in Karlovy Vary can arrange exclusive spa treatments, secure film festival tickets, and organize visits to nearby Bohemian glass factories and medieval castles.

What Our Guests Say
Very Good Location was great, pretty commom areas, comfortable bed and soft bedding.
What could be improved: Our room had very dangerous shower stall door that you could either open only a bit or they would fall out. A picture from a set in the room was obviously missing, there were scuff marks on the wall in the room.
Great hotel with friendly staff Great location, good breakfast, helpful staff.
Karlovy Vary is magnificent during the autumn. The hotel is conveniently located next to the central pedestrian area of the city, where you can find a lot of restaurants, shops and amenities. There is also quick access to the hills above Karlovy Vary, where you can walk in a picturesque forest.
Breakfast was standard for this type of hotel, the restaurant was quiet and not crowded. The hotel is cozy and we didn't have any issues.
We will chose Alisa next time for sure location, staff, view, breakfast
What could be improved: -
Wonderful verynice hotel, friendly staff, very quiet, nice brekfast
What could be improved: all greatj ust beware that it is on the furthest side and most beautiful of old town, so to get at bus stations, shops etc you need a good 25 minute walk
Great stay, great location, nice rooms! Clean, neat and tidy
Center of the city
What could be improved: Could be more informative about parking. The breakfast was also lacking
Nice option at a good price Position, communication, price, spacious room
What could be improved: Mattress could be more comfortable, breakfast was good/ standard but could be better quality
Beautiful hotel with great staff at the river near the city-center Really beautiful hotel from the outside as well as from the inside next to the river near the city center. The staff is kind and helpful, at first our room could not be occupied due to some maintanence problems and since it was the last room in this hotel they booked a room for us in another hotel across the street, but somehow they managed to do the reparation before we arrived and informed us. It was a huge luck since our room was like in a palace, blue walls with blue rolyal carpets a white-golden bed with canopy and chandeliers just like in a fairytale.
What could be improved: Unfortunately our view looked back towards the stairs, and the curtains did not block the morning lights but these are just little inconveniences.
Exceptional price to value hotel Perfect location
Friendly staff
Exceptionaly clean room
What could be improved: Internet was not working (they had an outage at the time of our stay)
Floor of shower corner was not installed properly
We asked for 2 sepparate beds, that i mentioned even at custom wishes, the actual two single beds were connected into 1 big one. We had to sepparate them ourself
Leate breakfest starting at 8:00
No free parking around.
All of negatives are very minor issues, overal it is great hotel.
Wonderful Nice staff, we have a great help from them, good service and great location.
