Apartmá Zeyer 1887
You know what caught me off guard about Apartmá Zeyer 1887?
You know what caught me off guard about Apartmá Zeyer 1887? The name makes it sound like some dusty old pension, but honestly, this place is a gem tucked away on Zeyerova street that most tourists completely walk past on their way to the main spa district. I mean, that’s actually perfect if you ask me – you get all the charm of staying in a historic Karlovy Vary building without the chaos of being right in the thick of things.
The location is honestly brilliant once you figure out the neighborhood. You’re maybe a seven-minute walk from the Teplá River and all those famous colonnades, but far enough up the hill that you escape the tour group madness. The building itself has this wonderful old-world weight to it – thick walls that actually keep things quiet (something you’ll appreciate if you’ve ever tried to sleep near the Mill Colonnade during festival season), and the kind of solid construction that makes modern hotels feel flimsy by comparison. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward – no corporate nonsense, just genuine hospitality from people who clearly take pride in the place. The apartments themselves strike this nice balance between respecting the 1887 heritage and giving you everything you actually need. The kitchenettes are properly equipped, not just for show, which is clutch if you want to grab fresh bread from one of the local bakeries or cheese from the market near the Grandhotel Pupp and have a quiet breakfast before the spa crowds descend.
What really sold me on this place was the attention to details that matter. The water pressure is excellent (trust me, after a day of walking Karlovy Vary’s hills, you want a proper shower), the Wi-Fi actually works throughout the building, and – this might sound silly – but the windows open wide enough to let in that crisp mountain air without letting in street noise. Parking was way easier than I expected too, especially compared to trying to navigate around the spa zone with a car. The staff genuinely knows the area and can point you toward the less touristy springs or recommend restaurants where locals actually eat, not just the obvious spots every guidebook mentions. I stayed during shoulder season in late spring, and honestly, that felt ideal – warm enough for long walks but not so crowded that you’re fighting for space at every thermal spring. The 9.1 rating makes complete sense when you experience the place – it’s not trying to be the fanciest hotel in town, but everything works exactly as it should, and there’s something refreshing about that level of competence without pretension. If you’re the type who values character over chain hotel predictability and wants to feel like you’re staying somewhere with actual history rather than just sleeping in Karlovy Vary, this is your spot.

What Our Guests Say
First stay in Karlovy Vary Very good location for short stay travellers and beautiful room.
What could be improved: There were few bath amenity goods. But as there is a convenient Albert near the apartment, no problems to stay in Karlovy Vary.
Exceptional Awesome! It's a tiny and beautiful apartment with a very stylish interior where you can feel like being at home.
It's close to the centre and also close to the train and bus stations. There are a lot of restaurants, cafés and shops nearby. We didn't miss anything! Thank you and see you next time!
What could be improved: The only thing being bad was that we had to leave! ;)
Loved the city, host extremely helpful, apartment very comfortable Location. Well equipped.
Clean and bed super comfortable.
What could be improved: Shower would be better with a holder
Shower curtain needs replacing
Opening windows not easy as the crockery stall holders set up really early. On plus side very quiet when they were shut
Maybe leave a Czech plug with usb sockets for the foreign travellers
Exceptional Nice cozy little apartment in the heart of the city, parking at the nearby Ambassador hotel was also quite convenient. Klara is very kind and responsive, made sure we had a smooth experience
Just perfect 👌 I liked everything. Klara contacted me soon as I booked the apartment. Check-in went smooth . Perfect location. Parking across the street. Nearby store, bakery, fast food, restaurants... And the apartment, everything high quality...
Just perfect 👌... And Klara off course... 👌
What could be improved: Nothing. As I said, everything's perfect.
Cosy and stylish appartment. Newly refurbisheshed appartment with cosy details.
Wonderful Location is perfect, very close to the bus station, also its a lovely apartment, lots of restaurant nearby, the most important thing is the host were super friendly, soooo kind to answer our questions and give us a fast response at all time.
We highly recommend it🥳 🥳🥳
What could be improved: Cause it’s on 2 floor no elevator, we need to carry our luggage upstairs, but overall it’s not a big problem, we still have a nice stay.
We absolutely loved the short stay and hope to be back! The hosts were totally nice and responsive even at night ❤️ A beautiful, little and cosy apartment in the very heart of the town, within a walking distance to all the main attractions and cafe or restaurants.
What could be improved: All was great and well prepared - the size makes it most comfortable for a couple though.
Exceptional very Cody, clean and beautiful apartment.
it was the best stay we’ve experienced through booking it was clean and so friendly
