You know what caught me off guard about Apartmán Amici? I was expecting just another basic apartment rental, but this place actually has character. It’s tucked up on the fourth floor of this older building on Stará Louka – and honestly, that climb is worth it once you see the setup they’ve got going.
The location is pretty brilliant if you know Karlovy Vary at all. Stará Louka runs parallel to the main spa strip, so you’re literally a two-minute walk from all the famous colonnades and hot springs, but you’re not dealing with the constant foot traffic and tourist chaos right outside your window. I mean, you can still hear some street noise during the day, but it dies down nicely in the evenings. The building itself has that solid, old-world feel – thick walls, high ceilings, the kind of place that stays cool in summer without cranking the AC constantly.
What I really appreciated was how the owners set this up like an actual home rather than a sterile hotel room. The kitchen is properly equipped (I’m talking real knives, decent cookware, not the usual rental junk), which comes in handy since Karlovy Vary can get pricey for dining out every meal. There’s this nice little balcony area where you can sit with your morning coffee and watch the town wake up – you get glimpses of the thermal steam rising from the spa buildings, which honestly never gets old. The Wi-Fi actually works well throughout the apartment, and there are enough outlets and USB ports that you don’t have to choose between charging your phone and using your laptop.
Parking was easier than I expected – there’s street parking nearby, and the hosts gave clear instructions about the local parking zones. Check-in was smooth too; they met us right at the building entrance and walked us through everything, including some solid recommendations for restaurants that locals actually go to (definitely hit up that little place they suggest near the market hall).
The 9.2 rating makes total sense once you’ve stayed here. It’s not luxury – this is a 3-star place and it feels like a 3-star place – but it’s thoughtfully done. The beds are comfortable, the shower has good pressure, and everything works the way it should. Plus, you’re staying in a neighborhood where you can grab groceries, find a decent pub, and feel like you’re experiencing Karlovy Vary beyond just the spa tourist bubble. During spa season it gets busier, but even then, this street maintains a more residential vibe compared to the main drag around the Grand Hotel Pupp area.
If you’re planning to explore beyond Karlovy Vary – maybe day trips to Loket or hiking in the Krušné Mountains – this makes a great base. Easy to get in and out of town, but when you come back tired and probably smelling like sulfur springs, you’ve got a proper place to decompress rather than just a hotel room.

Exceptional Bardzo komfortowo urządzona kuchnia z dużą ilością potrzebnych sprzętów oraz wybrane przyprawy.
Na dole salon z kuchnią. Na górze (na antresoli), sypialnią z łazienką z dużą szafą, pralką i kompatybilną suszarką elektryczną. Jedyny mankament to wejście na górę po schodach bez windy, ale to mniej więcej jak na 3 piętro. Na dole zostawialiśmy przypięte rowery i było wszystko ok. Miejsce piękne widokwo z okna.Parking po drugiej stronie ulicy i widoczny z okna.
Wonderful Ubytovanie bolo pekné a čisté, všetko bolo k dispozícii ( fén, žehlička, dva ventilátory, veľká telka,...).. WIFI....Kľúčik sme si prevzali v schránke. Mali sme aj parkovanie zdarma ,len treba vopred rezervovať. Z okna vidíte na auto. Ubytovanie sa nachádza v centre mesta, to je super...
What could be improved: Nič sa nedá nejak vytknúť, len to, že kúpelňa s wc je hneď pri spálni ( pri posteliach ) a tá sklenená stena nie je dobré riešenie. Ak niekto ide v noci na toaletu, tak tých čo spia v spálni zobudí svetlo a zvuky ..A tie schody dajú zabrať ,cca 95 schodov do apartmánu ,ale to sme vedeli, že to tak je, rátali sme s tým...A musím povedať, že už posledný deň som mala riadnu svalovicu ...haha :-D aspoň sme si nohy potrénovali. Takže kto nemá kondičku alebo je starší človek, tak to pre neho nie je.
Všechno bylo super. Čistý uklizeny byt. Majitel příjemný pan. Doporučuji všem. Lokalita je super. Centr města.
Skvělá lokalita apartmánu, parkování na dohled, bezvadná komunikace s pronajímatelem parádní místo v centru, možnost parkování nedaleko místa pobytu, účelné vybavení prostor, pohodlné bydlení a především naprosto skvělá komunikace s pronajímatelem a možnost individuální dohody. Cítily jsme se s kamarádkou vítané.
What could be improved: v domě probíhala rekonstrukce, takže všudepřítomný prach :(

Karlovy Vary ❤️ Es ist sehr schöne, komfortable Wohnung im Zentrum von der Stadt. Alles sauber, Bett ist sehr bequem. Im Bad war alles zur Verfügung bereit wie Z.b Shampoo, Cremedusche, sogar Waschmaschinekapseln. Es ist ganz schön warm in der Wohnung, da draußen - 3 Grad war. Die Küche ist genauso ganz gut ausgestattet, alles was man braucht gibt es, und alles sauber und neu. Was ich sehr wichtig finde, es gibt ein freies Parkplatz gegenüber die Wohnung-es ist sehr schwierig in der Nähe von Zentrum, sogar weiter, ein Parkplatz zu finden. Viele Autos standen auf die Straße und nach Parkplatz gesucht. Es ist sehr gute Lage, da alles mit Fuß in wenigen Minuten erreichbar ist. Sehr schöne Restaurants und Cafés in der Nähe.
What could be improved: Wohnung befindet sich im 5.Stock ohne Aufzug, und Schlafzimmer ist auch auf die Etage mit ein paar Treppen erreichbar, da sie Probleme mit viel Laufen haben vielleicht wäre das nicht die beste Alternative. Für uns das war kein Problem, wir würden gern weiter empfehlen
Fair What could be improved: Imagine you had to walk 10 mins in the pouring rain at 10 pm on your wedding day, after 1) finding out that free parking needed to be reserved in advance, 2) writing 20 mins with the host while getting no clear solution and 3) spending 20 mins looking for paid parking lot.

Pleasant stay in Karlovy Vary. Would stay here again. The apartment is on the main street along the river and close to everything so you could walk everywhere. Free parking. The apartment was sufficient and big enough for the three of us. Great big shower. Great value for money.
What could be improved: The fact the apartment is on 4th floor without a lift. 100 stairs to the top so not recommended for physically challenged person.

What could be improved: My biggest concern was needing a key to exit the building. I can’t imagine if there was an emergency.
