The bathroom’s modern enough, good water pressure – which matters more than you think when you’re staying in a historic building in a centuries-old spa town. What really got me was how quiet it stays at night. You’d think being this close to the action would mean constant noise, but the street’s residential enough that by 9 PM it’s just the occasional car and maybe some late diners walking back from the restaurants down near the Teplá River.

The building’s got that solid Central European feel – thick walls, high ceilings, the kind of place that’s seen decades of visitors but doesn’t feel worn down by them. Check-in was straightforward, no weird key pickup locations or confusing instructions that plague so many of these apartment rentals. I’ll be honest, parking took me about fifteen minutes to figure out the first day (the streets around there get pretty narrow), but once you know the system it’s fine. What really sold me on the place was how it positions you in Karlovy Vary – you can walk to all the famous springs, you’re close enough to hike up to the Diana Observation Tower when the mood strikes, but you’re also near actual grocery stores and cafés where locals go, not just the tourist-heavy spots around the Grand Hotel Pupp. The rating makes sense too – it’s not trying to be luxury, but everything works exactly like it should, and sometimes that’s worth more than fancy amenities you’ll never use.
