Look, I’ve stayed in my fair share of apartments in Karlovy Vary, and Apartmán Vendy on Hradištní street is honestly one of those places that just gets it right. You know what I mean? It’s tucked away on this quiet residential street – and I mean actually quiet, not “quiet except for the trams every five minutes” like some places closer to the colonnade. When I first walked up to number 110, I wasn’t expecting much from the outside, but once you’re inside… well, it’s clear someone actually cares about this place.

The thing about staying here is that you’re living like a local, not a tourist trapped in hotel-land. There’s something really satisfying about having your own space with a proper kitchen – I mean, you can actually cook here if you want, though honestly, with all the incredible food in Karlovy Vary, I mostly just used it for morning coffee and storing leftovers from dinner at U Fleku (which is just a short walk away, by the way). The apartment itself feels like someone’s actual home, not some sterile rental unit. The furniture’s comfortable – and I’m picky about beds, trust me – and there are these little touches that show someone thought about what travelers actually need. Extra blankets that don’t smell weird, decent water pressure in the shower, windows that actually open properly.

What really sold me on this place, though, is the location. You’re close enough to walk to the main spa area and all the fancy hotels along Tržiště street, but far enough away that you don’t have crowds of tour groups wandering past your windows at 7 AM. I could walk to the Grandhotel Pupp in maybe ten minutes, but coming back to Hradištní felt like retreating to this peaceful little bubble. The neighborhood has that authentic Czech residential vibe – you’ll see locals walking their dogs, kids playing in the small parks, that sort of thing. And parking? Actually manageable here, unlike trying to find a spot near the main spa district.

The 9.6 rating makes total sense once you’ve been there. It’s not trying to be some luxury resort – it’s a solid, well-run apartment that does exactly what it promises. The host was really responsive when I had questions, and check-in was refreshingly straightforward. No weird hidden fees or surprise “tourist taxes” that some places spring on you. I stayed there during shoulder season in early October, and it was perfect – still warm enough to keep the windows open, but quiet since the summer crowds had cleared out. I imagine it gets busier during spa season, but the residential location probably shields it from the worst of the tourist chaos. If you’re looking for somewhere that feels like home base rather than just a place to crash between spa treatments, this is your spot.
