Look, I’ve stayed at plenty of places in Karlovy Vary, but Apartment Vertigo on Mariánskolázeňská street is honestly one of those finds that makes you want to keep quiet about it – except I can’t help myself. The name might sound dramatic, but it’s actually perfect once you see the place. You’re right in the heart of the spa district, and I mean literally a two-minute walk from the Mill Colonnade where all the thermal spring action happens. The building itself has this gorgeous turn-of-the-century facade that fits seamlessly with the rest of the street’s architecture, but step inside and you’ll find they’ve done something really smart with the renovations.
What struck me first was how they managed to keep the old-world charm without making you feel like you’re sleeping in a museum. The apartments – and they really are proper apartments, not just hotel rooms with a kitchenette shoved in the corner – have these incredibly high ceilings and original hardwood floors that creak just enough to remind you of the building’s history. The windows are massive, which is great for natural light but also means you get a real sense of the street life below. Speaking of which, Mariánskolázeňská can get a bit busy during the day with tourists heading to the springs, but it actually quiets down nicely in the evenings. I was worried about noise when I first arrived, but honestly, it’s more like a gentle hum of activity that somehow adds to the spa town atmosphere rather than detracting from it.
The kitchen setup is where this place really shines – you’ve got proper appliances and enough space to actually cook if you want to, which is rare for this area. I ended up grabbing ingredients from the little market near Goethe Square and making breakfast a few mornings instead of heading out, partly because the apartment felt so comfortable and partly because everything in the spa zone can get pricey pretty quickly. The staff clearly knows what they’re doing; check-in was smooth, and when I had a question about the best route to Diana Lookout Tower (pro tip: take the funicular, don’t attempt the hike in dress shoes like I did), they gave me actual useful advice instead of just pointing vaguely upward. The whole place feels like it’s run by people who actually care about the details – fresh linens that smell like they’ve been line-dried, good water pressure in the shower, and reliable Wi-Fi that doesn’t cut out every time someone else logs on. At 9.3 rating, it’s clearly not just me who thinks they’ve got something special going on here.

Nur zu empfehlen 👍 Das Apartment war sauber und super Ausgestattet. Die Lage ist super alles zu Fuß zu erreichen, würden es auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen. Hatten mit dem Wetter nur kein Glück, der Rest war empfehlenswert.

perfekt! Es ist ein wunderschönes Appartement mit "altem Charme), super tollen, bequemen Betten gut ausgestatteter kleiner Küchenzeile, geräumigen Bädern. Als extra standen gekühlte Getränke im Kühlschrank, die Vermieterin hat uns persönlich begrüßt und uns alles gezeigt und uns im Vorfeld einen Parkplatz ganz in der Nähe reserviert. Und das Appartement ist fußläufig an der Stadt.

Karlovy Vary ist immer wieder eine Reise wert - im geschmackvoll eingerichteten Apartment Vertigo. Das Apartment ist ruhig gelegen, nahe des neu restaurierten "Lazne 1" und des "Grand Hotel Pupp". Der direkte Blick und Zugang zum Karlsbader Wald tragen zur Erholung bei. Die Zimmer aus der Gründerzeit sind sehr gut ausgestattet.
Perfekte Unterkunft mit Parkmöglichkeit, um die Sehenswürdigkeiten zu Fuß erreichen zu können. Lage ist ausgezeichnet, nur ein paar Schritte von den Sehenswürdigkeiten entfernt und man musste nicht die Berge erklimmen um zur Unterkunft zu gelangen. Parkplätze sind Mangelware in Karlsbad, auch in der Straße, wo die Unterkunft ist. Hana, die Eigentümerin hat uns ganz in der Nähe einen Parkplatz für 10 Euro/ pro Nacht reserviert. Das ist in Karlsbad sehr günstig und der Parkplatz ist nur ein paar Schritte von der Unterkunft entfernt. (Man muss es noch vor der Anreise abklären...) Die Betten sind sehr bequem, die Wohnung ist sauber. Wohnzimmer ist der Übergang zwischen den 2 Schlafzimmern. Es ist ein schmaler Raum mit Esstisch und Schlafsofa. Wenn die 2 bunte Sesseln aus dem Schlafzimmer hingestellt werden, dann reicht es für 4 Personen als Wohnzimmer vollkommen.
What could be improved: Die Kommunikation lief mit Google Übersetzer Tschechisch, aber Hana hat die Fragen schnell beantwortet. Wenn man das Auto geparkt hat, sollte man es bis zur Abreise auch dort lassen, sonst ist der Platz sofort belegt. Parkplätze sind Mangelware in Karlsbad! Man kann die Stadt aber sehr gut zu Fuß oder sogar mit dem Bus (Haltestelle ist in der Straße) erkunden.
Can we return- it was a lovley apartment and fantastic facilities. Location excellent, host was super attentive and helped any way possible. Explain things in Czech and English. Everything worked as expected. Great space

Wonderful Velký apartmán, velmi čistý, super pohodlné postele. Lokalita blízko centra, všude lze pěšky dojít...
What could be improved: Malé mínus za parkování, bylo poblíž, placené; chápeme však, že v době konání MFF není jednoduché zaparkovat kdekoli v KV.

Great apartment in great location The location was awesome. Quiet, beautiful, easy walk to all attractions. Well appointed apartment with everything we needed. Beds were comfortable, windows opened for fresh air in the evenings, bathrooms and kitchens well stocked with essentials. Plenty of towels and shower had plenty of water pressure. Host was kind and showed us where to park and check in was quick. We were very happy with accommodations and fully recommend.
Clean and well equipped apartments with extremely dedicated owner. The apartment has a really great location, it is perfectly equipped and clean, and we were also welcomed with wine and soft drinks in the fridge. The owner really went a few extra steps to secure us a parking space, especially in bad weather, for which we are very grateful. Thanks to this accommodation, our stay was really fantastic.
