So I stumbled across ApartmentsCarlsbad while hunting for something different in Karlovy Vary, and honestly? It’s one of those finds that makes you feel a bit smug about your booking skills. The name’s a bit confusing at first – you’re thinking “wait, isn’t Carlsbad the old German name?” – but yeah, that’s exactly the charm here. These folks embrace the history without being stuffy about it.
The location on Kolmá street is actually brilliant once you figure out the lay of the land. I mean, you’re not right in the thick of the spa promenade chaos with all the tour groups, but you can still walk to the main colonnade in maybe ten minutes if you take the shortcut through the park. What I really loved was coming back in the evenings – you know how Karlovy Vary gets this almost fairy-tale quietness after the day-trippers head home? Well, from ApartmentsCarlsbad you get these glimpses of the castle up on the hill, especially from some of the higher floors, and the whole area just feels properly Czech rather than tourist-theme-park-Czech, if that makes sense.
The apartments themselves are way more spacious than what you’d typically get in the spa district – I’m talking actual room to spread out your stuff, not just squeeze around a tiny hotel bed. The kitchenettes are properly equipped too, which came in handy because honestly, you can only eat so much schnitzel and dumplings before you’re craving something simple. There’s a Tesco about a five-minute walk away (though the locals shop at the smaller market near the bus stop – better produce, just saying). The 4-star rating feels right – it’s polished without being flashy, comfortable without trying too hard. You know what impressed me most? The little things actually worked. Hot water pressure was solid, WiFi didn’t cut out every five minutes, and the beds were firm enough that you didn’t feel like you were sinking into a marshmallow.
Parking’s not terrible if you’re driving – there’s street parking that’s usually free after 6 PM, though during spa season (basically May through September) you might need to circle the block once or twice. The check-in was refreshingly straightforward too – none of that overly formal hotel dance, just friendly and efficient. I actually ended up chatting with the owner about the best time to visit the hot springs without crowds (early morning, around 7 AM, before the first buses arrive from Prague). That 8.9 rating makes total sense when you stay there – it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in town, but everything just works the way it should, and you feel like you’re staying somewhere that gets what travelers actually want rather than what some marketing team thinks they want.

What Our Guests Say
Wonderful The apartment is very big and comfortable and is 10 min by foot near rhe centre!! The lady from the appartment is so kind and good but she dont speak English but its ok we speak with translate....the parking place is behind the appartment
What could be improved: The cabine for the bath is too small
Exceptional Very good location, next to the city centre.
Nice, clean stay in a great location The apartment was newly renovated, spacious, and spotless — fully equipped for a comfortable stay. All the city attractions were within walking distance, and we also had a parking spot provided.
What could be improved: Given the lack of air conditioning, adding mosquito nets would be a thoughtful improvement.
Molly the hostess was very helpful Lovely well maintained quiet place
Nice and comfortable The host was very nice and helpful. There is parking spot only for guests without any fees. The place is near the centre where you can walk, have some food and drinks and shopping.
What could be improved: The only think I didn’t like is there was a little bit cold in the nighttime and they didn’t turned the heating or even prepare additional blankets
Perfect! If you visit Karlovy Vary stay at this apartment Apartments was new, clean and very big. In the kitchen you can find microwave, coffee maker, water boiler. The location was perfect. By foot only 3-4 min to the city center. Parking for car is behind the apartment and you can watch your car from the window.
What could be improved: In the kitchen there weren't a lot on cooking pans. For people who aren't fit the way from center to apartment will be hard because the apartment is on the hill (23%).
Great option for short stay Everything was just perfect, kind staff, nice and spacious appartment which was clean and well equipped. Close to the promenade, with free parking:) Higly recommended...we will come back again! Thank you :)
Comfortable, clean apartment only 10 minutes walk from the spa. Spacious, comfortable apartment with good cooking facilities (close to a small supermarket, a cute pizzeria and a convenient bus stop) at the top of a very steep street (but with a much more gentle walk down through a nearby park and a bus stop only a few steps away). Nice, small courtyard and strong, consistent WIFI available.
What could be improved: Nothing.
Fantastic 🎉🥳🎊 Hello, thank you for accommodating us for 3days and 2nights. 😊 What you see is what you get. I mean what you see on the pictures on the websites are the actual look inside the apartment. It is very clean, fresh and relaxable place for us, especially those that are taking long vacation from work. The staff is very welcoming and approachable. Easy communication with the owner. I will surely recommend this place and give it a high ratings. ✌️🤗💗 This apartment is indeed closes to the groceries, restaurant and also to the tourist attractions of Karlovy Vary. The money that you will pay is really worth it. 😉🎊🥳
Wonderful The warm rooms with hot water. Near the old city. The bus station is near the property.
What could be improved: Some furniture is little broken but usable. The nearest shop haven't enough fresh vegetables and it's only one.
