I mean, you’re still close enough to walk to the main spa colonnade in about ten minutes, but you’re not dealing with the constant stream of tour groups that cluster around the bigger hotels near the hot springs.

The building itself has this sort of understated charm that grows on you. It’s not flashy (this is a 4-star place, not some grand palace), but the apartments are genuinely well-thought-out. What I really appreciated was the kitchen setup – and I’m someone who usually just uses hotel kitchens for storing leftovers and making coffee. Here, you could actually cook a proper meal if you wanted to save some money instead of eating out every night in Karlovy Vary. The living spaces feel lived-in rather than sterile, if that makes sense. There’s decent soundproofing too, which matters because Varšavská does get some traffic during the day, though it quiets down nicely in the evenings.

The staff runs things pretty smoothly – check-in was straightforward, and they actually know the neighborhood well enough to give you proper directions to places. I asked about parking (because honestly, driving in Karlovy Vary’s old town is a nightmare), and they sorted that out without any drama. The 7.9 rating feels about right to me – it’s solid and reliable without being extraordinary. You’re paying for a good base to explore the spa town from, not for luxury amenities or fancy lobbies. What I’d say is this: if you want to experience Karlovy Vary like you’re staying in an actual neighborhood rather than in tourist central, and you appreciate having some space to spread out with a proper kitchen, Blue Rose works really well. Just don’t expect concierge service or daily housekeeping – this is more like borrowing a friend’s well-appointed apartment for a few days.
