So here’s the thing about Cihelny Golf & Wellness Resort – it’s actually tucked away in this quiet spot about 15 minutes from Karlovy Vary’s main drag, which honestly works in its favor. I mean, you’re close enough to pop into town for those famous hot springs and the whole spa scene, but far enough out that you’re not dealing with tour bus crowds at 7 AM. The resort sits on this rolling golf course that, I’ve got to say, looks pretty spectacular when you’re pulling up the tree-lined drive.
The whole place has this modern-meets-traditional Czech vibe going on – clean lines but with warm wood touches that don’t feel sterile like some of these newer properties. What really caught me off guard was how quiet it gets in the evenings. You know how some golf resorts can feel a bit… stuffy? This one doesn’t. Maybe it’s because the staff actually seems to enjoy working there, or maybe it’s just that relaxed Czech hospitality, but there’s something genuinely welcoming about the place. The wellness center is where they really shine though – and I’m usually skeptical about hotel spas. This one’s different. They’ve got this indoor pool area that opens up to views of the course, and the treatment rooms smell like eucalyptus and cedar instead of that generic “spa scent” you get everywhere else.
Here’s what I wish someone had told me before I went: the restaurant gets busy around 7:30, so either book ahead or go early if you want that window table overlooking the 18th hole. Also, if you’re planning to explore Karlovy Vary proper, there’s decent parking near the Grandhotel Pupp area, but honestly, the resort will arrange a driver for pretty reasonable rates – worth it if you’re planning to sample the local Becherovka. The rooms themselves are solid – nothing revolutionary, but they’ve got good blackout curtains (crucial if you’re jet-lagged) and the beds are actually comfortable, not just expensive-feeling. One small thing that bugged me: the WiFi gets a bit spotty in some of the rooms facing the golf course, though it’s fine in the common areas. But really, that 8.5 rating feels about right – it’s the kind of place where everything just works without any drama, the kind of stay where you actually feel rested when you leave instead of needing another vacation to recover.
The concierge service in Karlovy Vary can arrange exclusive spa treatments, secure film festival tickets, and organize visits to nearby Bohemian glass factories and medieval castles.

Good for chilling in nature Nice surroundings, very good cuisine
What could be improved: The room was too small
Not bad :) Nice location, nice room. Swimming pool, sauna
What could be improved: Food wasn’t great, the buffet was nearly empty and no one checked it for over 15 minutes. When i asked if they gonna fill up the buffet i was nearly told off :)) guy was telling me that they check the buffet all the time 😀😀 and the food was very average and i’m not very picky person :)
Exceptional It was, as always great. The place outside is realy nice to see and to walk. Spa and pool are enjoyable as well as playing golf. Overall sweet and for golflovers anyways perfect. We will be back :)
What could be improved: parking fee
Very Good Really liked the nature, wonderful breakfasts with freshly baked bread, spacious restaurant, not bad food, very clean, very friendly staff.
What could be improved: The lack of an elevator was a big nuisance.
Awesome value for money. Nice facilities and wellness. Good golf field and pro shop. Nice bar and awesome personnel with lots of talents. Cozy atmosphere and nice food. Only one request: please add traditional Czech kitchen to the menu!:)
What could be improved: None.
Hotel in the nature We stayed there with family in May for one night, should stay longer. The hotel is surrounded by nature. Everything was fine, friendly staff, breakfast and dinner were good.

Exceptional A very cozy and secluded place — perfect for disconnecting from the outside world and enjoying nature. The atmosphere is truly calming, and it’s a great escape if you’re looking for peace and quiet. One thing I really appreciate is that the hotel is pet-friendly — it’s wonderful to be able to travel with your furry friend.
That said, it would be even better if there was a designated, fenced-off area for dogs to walk and play. While many guests love animals, there are others who may feel uncomfortable or afraid, regardless of how friendly the dogs are. A small barrier would make it more comfortable for everyone.
Overall, a lovely stay and would definitely return!
Exceptional The hotel is located in a beautiful area—perfect for those who love golf and nature. It's only about 15 minutes by car from the center of Karlovy Vary, offering a great balance between tranquility and accessibility. The hotel is well-equipped with everything needed to make your stay truly memorable.
The staff was exceptionally friendly, and our room was spotlessly clean. Convenient on-site parking is available. We especially enjoyed the sauna, spa, and swimming pool, which offers a lovely view.
The breakfast and dinner were both excellent—we had the half board option included, and it was well worth it.
What could be improved: I would suggest adding to the room Lotion for Body and conditioner for hair.
You need to work on some things as the hotel has everything for that. Very good location and beautiful nature around.
What could be improved: Unfortunately, housekeeping forgot towels for the sauna twice and the food was below our expectations.
Exceptional Perfect location for cosy holidays
