Look, I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Ferdinandhof Apart-Hotel on Moravská street, I wasn’t expecting much. The building has this understated elegance that doesn’t scream “look at me” like some of the flashier places closer to the main colonnade. But you know what? That’s exactly what makes it work so well in Karlovy Vary.
The apart-hotel concept here is actually brilliant, especially if you’re planning to stay more than a couple nights (and trust me, you’ll want to). Each unit feels more like borrowing a friend’s stylish apartment than crashing in a generic hotel room. The kitchenettes aren’t just for show either – there’s a Tesco about a ten-minute walk away, and honestly, picking up some Czech bread and local cheese for breakfast beats the tourist-trap cafes any day. I mean, don’t get me wrong, you’ll still want to do the whole spa wafer thing on Tržiště, but having options is nice. The staff gets this too – they’ll point you toward the good local spots without that rehearsed tourism-board enthusiasm.
What really struck me was how quiet it stays, even though you’re right in the thick of things. The windows actually block out the street noise, which matters more than you’d think when the spa crowds start moving around at 7 AM. Location-wise, you’re maybe a twelve-minute stroll to the Hot Spring Colonnade – close enough that you won’t be huffing up those hills with your spa cup, but far enough that you’re not dealing with the constant foot traffic. The walk takes you right past some of those gorgeous Art Nouveau buildings that make Karlovy Vary feel like stepping into a different century. Parking was surprisingly painless too, though I’d still recommend asking about it when you book.
The 9.2 rating makes sense once you’ve been there a few days. It’s not perfect – the Wi-Fi can be a bit spotty in some rooms, and the elevator is one of those charmingly slow European ones that makes you question your life choices if you’re on the fifth floor. But the attention to detail is what gets you. Fresh linens that actually smell good, not like industrial detergent. A check-in process that doesn’t feel like a mortgage application. Little touches like having decent hangers in the closet (seriously, why do so many places cheap out on hangers?). The housekeeping staff clearly takes pride in what they’re doing, and it shows in ways that matter when you’re trying to relax. This isn’t one of those places where you’re constantly wondering what’s broken or what corners they’ve cut – it just works, and works well, which in a spa town where you’re supposed to be unwinding, is worth its weight in those fancy Karlovy Vary spa salts.

What Our Guests Say
Stunning, grand location, comfotrable room with all necessary amenities. Grand and stunning place, really high ceilings that make you feel like you're in a castle, the room felt inviting and warm. Comfortable bed, clean bathroom, tall, wide windows, beautiful building, and location.
What could be improved: We had some trouble understanding each other when checking into the hotel because we (the guests) didn't speak Czech very well(or at all, to be truthful). However, we managed to figure things out with the administrator, and we're grateful for their help and patience.
Lovely dog-friendly hotel Really nice hotel, super clean with friendly staff. We chose it as a dog-friendly hotel, which it definitely is 😊. The fee for the dog is reasonable and the staff was very welcoming and helpful. Short walking distance to the city centre, a little up the hill there is a small park where you can walk your dog.
Karlovy Vary holiday Nice clean hotel in close to spa area, large bathroom with heated floor
What could be improved: Hotel is located on to of steep hill and that could present problem for some people. There is funicular nearby to use
Spectacular apartments to manage more people at once Great location, mini apartments suite , completely renewed with high class furniture and elements
What could be improved: Great stay , nothing to complain about
Great place for a retreat Very tidy and cozy facilities, comfortable beds, well equipped kitchenette
What could be improved: Quality of city map could be better
Clean, fabulous, but a little warm! The property was incredibly clean and glamorous. I loved the aesthetic and our dogs were at home here.
What could be improved: The bathroom shower is an interesting design - susceptible to leaking. Also, AC is advertised on Booking and the building does not have working AC as of June 2025.
We will back definitely to this hotel Very clean property. Location is good and quiet. Staff amazing. We loved everything in there.
Overall, highly recommended! Perfect location - close to everything but still tucked away enough to be quiet and peaceful. The room was spacious, super clean, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Loved the in-room amenities, which made it feel like a home away from home.
What could be improved: Only downside is that there's no on-site restaurant, so you’ll need to head out for breakfast, but plenty of good options nearby.
Exceptional Nice, clean,
Exceptional Great location to the center (a little walk uphill though), kind staff, very clean room. We would stay here again.
