Hotel Pilgrim
You know what struck me first about Hotel Pilgrim?
You know what struck me first about Hotel Pilgrim? It’s tucked away on Krále Jiřího street in this perfectly unassuming way that actually works in its favor. I mean, you’re still right in the heart of Karlovy Vary – honestly, you can walk to the main colonnade in about five minutes – but there’s something refreshingly quiet about this little corner. The building itself has that solid, no-nonsense Czech architecture that doesn’t try too hard, which I sort of appreciated after seeing so many hotels that go overboard with the “historic charm” thing.
The staff here really gets it, though. Check-in was smooth (they actually had my room ready early, which never happens), and the front desk folks knew their stuff about the local spa schedule without me having to ask twice. The rooms are what you’d expect from a solid 3-star place – clean, comfortable beds, decent WiFi that didn’t cut out every ten minutes like some places I’ve stayed. The bathroom was surprisingly spacious, actually, with one of those rainfall showerheads that works properly. Small thing, but you notice when you’ve been walking around those cobblestone streets all day. I will say the walls aren’t exactly soundproof – you might hear your neighbors if they’re having a loud phone conversation – but it wasn’t anything that kept me up at night.
What really sold me on this place was how it fits into the neighborhood. There’s this little bakery about two blocks down that opens ridiculously early (perfect if you’re planning to beat the crowds to the hot springs), and honestly, half the guests seemed to know about it already. The hotel’s breakfast isn’t elaborate, but it covers the basics well, and they actually have proper coffee, not that instant stuff. Plus, if you’re driving, there’s parking right there – which, trust me, is not a given in Karlovy Vary’s narrow streets. The whole setup just feels like it’s run by people who understand what travelers actually need versus what sounds good in a brochure. It’s the kind of place where you’re paying for location and competence rather than fancy amenities you probably won’t use anyway. That 8.6 rating makes total sense to me – it’s not trying to be the fanciest spot in town, but it delivers exactly what it promises without any unpleasant surprises.

Wonderful It was a perfect location for our short stay in this pretty city, easy to check in & out, room was clean and comfortable we would stay again.
What could be improved: Everything was perfect for our stay
Great hotel, for a good price! The room was nice and clean, the bed was very comfortable, and the hotel is located in a nice location.
Very good self check-in system for late arrivals.
What could be improved: There is no air conditioning, but there was a portable fan in the room, which made sleeping possible, otherwise it would be too hot.
The bath was on the small side with no way where to hang the shower head, so it was not the most comfortable, but still not a major flaw, but more like a minor inconvenience.
Wonderful Good location, parking available, friendly staff, great price.
What could be improved: Fridge was not working, but we did not needed it.
Exceptional Very easy Self check in. Very clean and comfy bed
Exceptional Good location and worth to book.

Lady at the reception was super helpful, we arrived earlier then check in time and she gave us a room with a smile.
What could be improved: Breakfast was very basic
Wonderful location and price
What could be improved: One towell had stranger hair on it.
Wonderful Big and clean room, nice staff. Good location, near city centre, so many restaurants and shops in walk in distance.
What could be improved: The walls are very thin and you can hear everything that is happening in the neighboring rooms, but at night it didn't bother us much.
Good choice Location

If I ever get the chance to visit Karlovy Vary again, I would love to stay here once more! This hotel is a real gem! It’s located almost right in the heart of the city, yet just a short walk from the bus terminal — super convenient! There are Lidl, Albert, and Mix Market stores nearby, plus plenty of cozy cafés and restaurants for every taste. Our double room was spacious, spotlessly clean, and had everything we needed: two cups, two spoons, one plate, and even complimentary tea, coffee, and sugar. I was really impressed by the size of the bathroom — it was huge! Housekeeping was regular and kept the room fresh. Even though the hotel is in the city center, it was nice and quiet at night; only the neighbors made a bit of noise, but nothing serious. The staff were absolutely lovely and helpful.
