You know what struck me first about Hotel Romance? It’s actually tucked away on Trziste street in a way that feels intentional – like someone deliberately wanted to create a little pocket of calm just steps from all the Karlovy Vary action. I mean, you’re literally a two-minute walk from the main colonnade where all the spa-goers gather with their funny little cups, but the hotel itself sits on this quieter stretch where you can actually hear yourself think.
The whole place has this understated elegance that honestly surprised me. I was expecting something a bit more… well, cheesy given the name, but it’s actually quite sophisticated. The lobby has these beautiful period details – original moldings and such – that remind you you’re in a building with real history, not some modern chain hotel. The staff genuinely seems to know the area too, which makes a difference when you’re trying to figure out the best time to hit the hot springs (early morning, by the way, before the tour groups arrive). Check-in was smooth, and they actually remembered my name throughout the stay, which is rarer than it should be these days.
What really sets this place apart though is how they’ve managed to balance that old-world Karlovy Vary charm with actual comfort. The rooms are spacious enough that you’re not bumping into furniture, and the beds are properly comfortable – not too soft, not too firm. The bathrooms are well-appointed without being flashy. And here’s something practical that matters: the windows actually block out street noise effectively, so you can sleep even when there’s the occasional late-night revelry from the nearby restaurants. Parking can be a bit tricky in this part of town (honestly, it’s tight everywhere in the historic center), but the hotel staff knows the area well enough to point you toward the best options nearby. The whole operation just feels well-run in that effortless way that comes from experience – you can tell they’ve been doing this for a while and have worked out the kinks. With a 9.2 rating, I’m clearly not the only one who’s noticed they’re doing something right here.

We enjoyed it :) The room interior and balcony with a great city view.
What could be improved: There was an AC in the description of the room, but there was a fan instead of it (which wasn't a problem as it wasn't hot outside that day, but still).

Spacious, comfort, delicious dining with a great location and a welcoming hospitality! Everything was awesome. The room was spacious, super clean, comfortable and cool thanks to the AC. Breakfast was great with many options. Staff were nice and welcoming. You must try their restaurant lunch/dinner. I highly recommend trying the asparagus and/or potato soup. they have delicious options and we ate there almost every day. not to mention it has a nice view from the it's balcony.
For the price and the location you will enjoy it. Great location, Breakfast was included, and there was a wonderful assortment to choose from. The restaurant was outstanding. All the personnel in the hotel and restaurant were professional and very friendly.
What could be improved: There is carpeting in the rooms. It needs serious cleaning. It would be better to remove it. This was the only distracting point.

A beautiful place to unwind and be pampered with amazing breakfast and extremely helpful staff Great location, easy walk to everything, lovely room with a very comfortable bed, access to free movies in English, knowledgeable and helpful staff and the best “included” breakfast I’ve ever had. The in hotel massage was also amazing.

Great location. Excellent place to stay Hotel has an excellent location. Breakfast was very good and they have a full service restaurant. The staff was friendly and helpful.
What could be improved: One evening was completely booked and we needed to find another place to eat dinner. That was a bit disappointing.
