Hotel VÍTKOVA HORA
Look, I'll be honest – when I first pulled up to Hotel VÍTKOVA HORA on Olsova Vrata, I wasn't expecting much from a 3-star place.
Look, I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Hotel VÍTKOVA HORA on Olsova Vrata, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place. But you know what? Sometimes the best surprises come in understated packages, and this little gem tucked away in Karlovy Vary really caught me off guard in the best way possible.
The thing about this hotel is that it actually gets what travelers want without all the pretentious nonsense. Yeah, it’s not going to blow you away with marble lobbies or whatever, but the staff genuinely seems to care about making your stay work. I mean, they helped me figure out the local bus routes to the spa district – which, by the way, saves you a decent chunk of change compared to taking taxis everywhere. The rooms are clean and comfortable, nothing fancy but everything works (and honestly, after staying in some “luxury” places where the shower barely functioned, that’s saying something). What really impressed me was how quiet it stays at night. You’re close enough to everything that matters in Karlovy Vary, but far enough from the main tourist chaos that you can actually sleep.
Here’s the thing locals probably won’t tell you – this area of town gives you a real feel for how people actually live in Karlovy Vary, not just the postcard version. There’s this little grocery store about two blocks down that’s perfect for grabbing snacks or drinks without paying hotel prices, and the morning walk into the spa quarter is actually pretty lovely once you get your bearings. The hotel’s location means you’ll do a bit of walking, but honestly? That’s half the charm of this place. You end up discovering these quiet streets and little corners that tour groups never see. Plus, parking here doesn’t make you want to cry like it does closer to the main springs – just something to keep in mind if you’re driving. The 8.4 rating this place has earned feels about right to me. It’s not perfect, but it delivers on the basics really well and throws in some genuine warmth that you don’t always get at this price point.

What Our Guests Say
Chill stay at the top of the hill Amazing view from the top! The vibration of the hotel is very relaxed and calm.nice staff. Id recommend hiking down to the town It's a nice walk! They have bike tracks too. Really cool place. would recommend:)
What could be improved: Maybe a tip for the hotel: We had a room with sunrise. the curtains let all the light through!so having a very bright room from 4am onwards is not great for sleeping.
Very Good Very spacious and nice room. Views around the hotel are nice. The jacuzzi & sauna (paid) is nice.
Peaceful location with beautiful views. Location. Very peaceful!
What could be improved: Nothing in particular.
Very Good Breakfast was great.
What could be improved: Room was a little warm.
Excellent view The room was clean and spacious, the view was amazing
What could be improved: The hot breakfast was disappointing. It did not look appetising, nor did it taste good.
Also the plastic plants in room and throughout hotel made it look outdated. There were plenty live plants so no need for plastic ones.
Wonderful Lovely Hotel ,with very good breakfast .
Good The bed, the shower, the view, the charger for EV
What could be improved: Breakfast was poor , at 20h30 we couldn’t get dinner anymore,
Very Good The room, even quite small, was lovely, facing the whole valley where the city is located. The bed was extremely comfortable and the bathroom even had a bathtube.
What could be improved: The restaurant was scheduled to be.open until 22.00 but they closed it around 20.00. If this happens, you are forced to go in the city - approximately 6 km.
Good What could be improved: The location is great, however in the middle of nowhere. We have arrived 19:55 because of the accident on the highway and we were told that the restaurant is accepting orders for meal only till 20:00 and we were not able to order the dinner nor offered any option. This was not the best way to finish the long trip.
Wonderful Nice quiet place. Great breakfast. Lovelly reception service.
