You know what? I wasn’t expecting much from an apartment rental in Karlovy Vary, but this Imperial place on Libušina street actually surprised me. The whole Bohemia Residence complex has this understated elegance – it’s not flashy, but there’s something solid and reliable about it that hits different from those cookie-cutter hotel chains.

The apartment itself feels genuinely spacious, which is honestly refreshing after cramming into tiny European hotel rooms for weeks. I mean, you’ve got proper living areas where you can actually spread out your stuff without playing Tetris with your luggage. The kitchen is fully kitted out too – and I’m talking real appliances, not those sad mini-fridges that can barely hold a bottle of wine. Perfect if you want to grab some local ingredients from the markets (there’s a decent one about ten minutes’ walk toward the town center) and actually cook something instead of eating out every single meal.

What really sold me on this place though is the location. Libušina street is sort of perfectly positioned – you’re close enough to walk into the main spa district where all the famous colonnades are, but far enough out that you’re not dealing with tour groups marching past your window at 7 AM. The walk down to the Teplá River and the main promenade takes maybe fifteen minutes if you’re strolling, less if you’re eager to get to those thermal springs everyone raves about. And honestly, after a day of wandering around those ornate spa buildings and sipping (admittedly weird-tasting) mineral water, coming back to a quiet residential street feels like a small luxury.

The Rentez management side of things was pretty smooth – check-in was straightforward, no weird key pickup locations across town or anything like that. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle in this area, but they’ve got it sorted, which saves you from driving in circles looking for a spot. The building itself has that solid Central European construction feel, so you’re not hearing every footstep from upstairs, which I definitely appreciated.

Look, it’s rated as a 3-star place, and that feels about right – you’re not getting marble bathrooms or a concierge, but everything works properly and the space feels well-maintained. The 8.5 rating makes sense to me because it delivers on what it promises without any unpleasant surprises. Sometimes that’s exactly what you want, especially in a place like Karlovy Vary where the real attractions are outside anyway. You’ll spend your days exploring the spa towns and hiking in the surrounding hills, so having a comfortable, functional base where you can actually relax in the evenings – maybe with a bottle of that excellent local Becherovka – well, that’s worth more than fancy lobby chandeliers you’ll never notice.
