You know what struck me first about Interhotel Central? It’s actually right on Divadelní náměstí – Theater Square – which sounds fancy but honestly just means you’re smack in the middle of everything worth seeing in Karlovy Vary. I mean, you walk out the front door and you’re already surrounded by those gorgeous baroque buildings that make this spa town feel like a fairy tale.
The hotel itself has that solid, old-world European feel that you either love or find a bit stuffy. I’m in the “love it” camp, especially since they’ve clearly put money into keeping the 4-star rating honest. The rooms are comfortable without being flashy – good beds (which matters more than people think), decent-sized bathrooms, and windows that actually open if you want fresh air instead of AC. What I really appreciated was how quiet it stays at night, even though you’re literally in the town center. The old buildings here have thick walls, and the square doesn’t turn into a party zone after dark like some European city centers do.
Here’s the thing about staying right on Divadelní náměstí – you’re maybe a three-minute walk from the main colonnade where all the famous hot springs are. I watched other tourists trudging uphill from hotels on the outskirts while I was already sipping (admittedly weird-tasting) mineral water from the springs before 8 AM. The location also means you’re close to the cable car up to Diana Tower, though honestly, the walk up through the forests is more rewarding if you’ve got decent shoes. Parking can be tricky – there’s not much right at the hotel, but there are several paid lots within a block or two. Just factor that into your budget because nothing’s free in the historic center. The staff seemed genuinely helpful when I needed directions to the less touristy springs (try Tržní kolonáda if you want to avoid crowds), and check-in was refreshingly straightforward – no upselling or lengthy presentations about amenities I didn’t need. It’s the kind of place that feels reliable rather than exciting, which is exactly what you want when you’re planning to spend your days wandering around thermal baths and Art Nouveau architecture instead of hanging around the hotel.

Good The staff was nice and the hotel overall was very good.
What could be improved: Bathroom and breakfast could be better. The shower didn't work as it should.
Good in general, but renewal is needed Great location and view from the room. Friendly stuff. Breakfast was usual but very tasty. Badroom was good and clean. Towels and supplies were refreshed every day. Pool was good.
What could be improved: Common halls, hall and bathroom in the room need to be refreshed. It's very noticable that they are not renewed for a long time. Change room and shower in pool are very old.
Nice 1 day trip Hotel in the centre of the Karlovy Vary. The rooms are big enough and well-equipped.
The view from the window is really nice, even at night.
The carpet in the room little bit dirty, but at least not smelly. This is the problem in almost every hotel here in CZ.
Breakfast was really good, with many choices.
Swimming pool with a hot-tube was nice.
What could be improved: The temperature of the swimming pool should be a little bit higher. It was 25-26, but we were looking at around 30 C. We are in Karlovy Vary, right :)
Very Good Central location, good breakfast, spacious room, fridge in the room
What could be improved: Bit outdated equipment, including towels and toiletries
Wonderful The location is really good, and the style and atmosphere of the hotel are amazing. Rooms are very spacious and clean.
What could be improved: Some of the staff didn't speak Czech or English and the service in the hotel lobby was rather poor.
In the heart of Karlovy Vary this hotel is fairly priced choice for stay Located in the heart of city. We had a balcony with great view. Room was clean. Friendly staff helped us with parking. Good breakfast.
What could be improved: Terrible wifi connection in our room. The safe didn't work.
The location was great, staff were friendly, and the room was worth the money. The staff were very friendly and spoke good English. The room was clean and we had a beautiful view of the city. The hotel offered pool/jacuzzi services and billiards and table tennis all included in the price. The breakfast was good and was also included in the price.
What could be improved: I wish that the pool/jacuzzi had later opening hours. It closed at 7PM which felt a little early.
pleasant top floor, great view on the square and the river, balcony, super comfortable beds, bath tub, cattle in the room. Helpful and friendly receptionist. The aesthetic of the hotel creates an atmosphere of past times, which is somehow cheesy yet pleasant.
What could be improved: the hotel has been running for some dozen years and it can be seen on the furniture as well as cutlery and dishes in the breakfast room. The room is not 100% sound proofed. One can hear talks from the neighbour rooms and if there is a chat in the corridor it's all heard very well. I was surprised to notice that the staff, thought very friendly, speaks very little the language of the country they are living and working in. For some I am not sure they spoke any english. And for the price of the hotel the quality of the tea in the room and for the breakfast was extremely poor.
Wonderful Location, view,clean,good breakfast,
What could be improved: Could have had milk in the room, free water in the room.
Great weekend at superb location with superb services. Fantastic location, great view from hotel rooms. Superb services and staff, particularly Alexander.
What could be improved: We would like more fresh vegetables for breakfast.
