Johann’s Heritage Apartment near city & nature
You know what?
You know what? I wasn’t expecting much when I first walked up to Johann’s place on Hamerská Street – it’s tucked away in this quiet residential area that honestly feels more like where locals actually live than where tourists usually end up. But that’s exactly what makes it special. The building has that solid, old-world Czech feel without being stuffy about it, and Johann himself is one of those hosts who actually seems to care whether you have a good time or not.
The apartment itself is what I’d call authentically comfortable – I mean, it’s not trying to be some Instagram-perfect space, but everything works the way it should. The furniture feels like real people live here, not like it was ordered from a hotel catalog. What really got me was how quiet it is at night. You’re still close enough to walk into the main spa district (maybe fifteen minutes if you’re not rushing), but you’re away from all those tour groups that flood the colonnade areas during the day. The kitchen actually has proper knives and more than two plates, which sounds silly but you’d be surprised how rare that is in short-term rentals. Plus there’s decent water pressure in the shower – again, something you don’t appreciate until you don’t have it.
Here’s the thing about the location that took me a day to figure out: you’re positioned perfectly between the city center and some really nice hiking trails that most visitors never discover. I stumbled onto this path that leads up through the forest behind the neighborhood, and honestly, some of the best views of the whole Karlovy Vary valley are up there. No crowds, just you and the trees. When you do want to head into town for the traditional spa experience or to try that Becherovka everyone talks about, it’s an easy walk – mostly downhill, which is nice when you’re carrying shopping bags back up. The 9.5 rating makes sense once you’ve been there a few days. It’s not flashy, but Johann has thought through the details that matter. Good WiFi, blackout curtains that actually block light, and he leaves you alone unless you need something. Sometimes the simple approach works best.

Exceptional Clean, stylishly furnished flat, very quiet location, parking spaces next to the house
Lovely, clean and cozy apartment Communication was easy and fast from the beginning. Lovely, clean and cosy apartment. Kitchen has everything you need! Definitely recommend it!
Wonderful Very clean apartment which is fully comply to our expectations. The appartment is very well equipped with all necessary utiites. Located in a small village which has positive but also negative sides. It is very quiet and it is possible to make some nice walks around. There is a bus connection: we could get to the city center in about 15 minutes.
What could be improved: The close road to the city was closed because of the rock fall. It is no much issue, but I would expect to know about that before the booking. Busses go not so often and in the weekend the last bus is departing from the city around 20.00. Ofterwards you should take a taxi or walk.
Exceptional Attention to detail

Yes, quite a walk to central KV - or take the bus.
Modern, cozy and with a lot of details The apartment is so beautiful and clean. I love all the details that make it stands out from other accommodations, e.g. great variety of tea, well equipped kitchen….i can feel how thoughtful the owner is on setting up a cozy stay for guests.
Satisfied The location is very good. The property is complete like a normal house. Highly recommended for family vacation.
