Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much from Kamil Apartments when I first walked up to the building on Ivana Petroviče Pavlova – it’s tucked away on this quiet residential street that most tourists probably walk right past without noticing. But you know what? Sometimes the best finds are the ones hiding in plain sight. The Delux A unit is actually a proper 65-square-meter space, which means you’re not playing Tetris with your luggage like you would in most European city accommodations.

The apartment itself feels more like staying at a friend’s place than a sterile hotel room. I mean, there’s actual counter space in the kitchen where you can spread out your morning coffee and those pastries from the bakery down the street (trust me, hit up the one near the post office – locals line up there for a reason). The living area has this lived-in comfort that three-star places usually try too hard to achieve with generic artwork and matching throw pillows. Here, it just works naturally. The bedroom’s got proper blackout potential too, which you’ll appreciate if you’re trying to recover from those late nights sampling Becherovka in the town center.

What really sold me on this place, though, was the location intelligence. You’re about a twelve-minute walk to the main colonnade area where all the spa action happens, but you’re far enough away that you don’t hear the tourist chatter at seven in the morning. The street itself is pretty calm – mostly locals heading to work or the occasional delivery truck. There’s decent parking nearby if you’re driving, which honestly isn’t terrible in this part of Karlovy Vary like it is closer to the Grand Hotel Pupp area. The building’s got that solid Central European construction feel, so you’re not hearing every footstep from upstairs neighbors. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward too – no hovering desk clerk trying to upsell you on breakfast packages or spa treatments you didn’t ask for. They just handed over the keys and let me figure things out, which I actually prefer. The whole setup gets a 9 rating for good reason, and after spending a few nights there, I can see why people keep coming back to this specific unit rather than gambling on some shiny chain hotel closer to the action.
