You know what struck me first about Karlsbad Apartments? It’s actually tucked up on Petřín Hill, which means you’re getting this elevated view over the spa town without paying resort prices. I mean, sure, it’s a bit of a walk down into the main action on Teplá Street where all the colonnade hopping happens, but honestly – that’s kind of the point. You get to escape back up here when the crowds of cure-seekers get overwhelming.

The apartments themselves are pretty straightforward – this is solid 3-star territory, nothing fancy but everything works. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night. You’re far enough from the main drag that you won’t hear people wandering around with their spa cups at all hours (and trust me, in Karlovy Vary, that’s a real thing). The units I saw had decent kitchenettes, which is clutch because eating out for every meal in the spa district can get expensive fast. Plus, there’s something nice about making coffee in your own space before heading down to try the famous hot springs – well, let’s be honest, the water tastes pretty awful, so having good coffee as backup is essential.

Location-wise, you’re actually in a sweet spot that most tourists miss. Sure, you’ll walk about 15 minutes to reach the Mill Colonnade or the hot spring colonnade, but you’re also right near some of the hiking trails that wind through the Slavkov Forest. I stumbled onto this completely by accident on my second day – there are these marked paths that start practically from the building that take you up to some incredible viewpoints. The deer park is super close too, which sounds touristy but is actually pretty charming if you go early morning. What really sold me though was the parking situation – it’s not the nightmare you’ll deal with down in the historic center. You can actually leave your car without spending half your day moving it around or feeding meters. The 7.7 rating feels about right honestly. It’s not going to blow your mind, but it gets the fundamentals right, and in a place like Karlovy Vary where location and value really matter, that counts for a lot.
