When I first pulled up to Pod jelením skokem (which translates to “Under the Deer’s Jump” if you’re curious), I wasn’t exactly blown away by the exterior, but honestly? That’s kind of the point with Karlovy Vary’s neighborhood gems.
The thing about this spot is its location – you’re tucked away from the main tourist chaos around the colonnades, but still close enough that you can walk to Mill Colonnade in about fifteen minutes without breaking a sweat. I mean, you’ll pass some lovely residential streets where actual locals live, which gives you a better feel for the city than staying right in the thick of things. The neighborhood’s quiet at night too, which I appreciated after dealing with some of the busier hotels closer to the hot springs where tour groups tend to congregate. Parking’s actually manageable here (not something you can say about everywhere in KV), and the staff seemed genuinely helpful rather than just going through the motions.
What surprised me was how the 3-star rating doesn’t tell the whole story. Sure, you’re not getting marble bathrooms or a concierge who speaks six languages, but the rooms are clean and comfortable, and there’s this unpretentious vibe that feels refreshingly honest. The breakfast was better than I expected – nothing fancy, but proper Czech bread and decent coffee, plus they had local honey which was a nice touch. You know what really sold me though? The fact that when I asked about hiking trails in the area, the front desk guy actually drew me a little map showing the path up to Diana Observation Tower that most tourists never find. It’s those small gestures that make a difference when you’re trying to experience a place beyond the standard spa-town routine. The 7.6 rating feels about right – it’s not going to wow you with luxury, but it delivers on the basics while giving you authentic access to one of Czech Republic’s most famous spa towns without the touristy markup.

Karlovy vary is beautiful; I took a train to Marianaska which is also stunning Lovely views from the balcony compensated for the steep climb to reach the hotel!

In Karlovy Vary there are many hotels claiming four stars but parely worth three. Morava is three stars and fills those boots easily. For example breakfast is as good or better than in most faux four star palces. It's a beautiful, friendly and functionable.
What could be improved: Location, horizontal. It takes a bit of climb (and searching at first) to get there. Especially on a hot day one is easily drenched in sweat after the climb. You don't easily just drop in to pick up an umbrella or whatever.
Very convenient especially for the festival It is very convenient for the festival as it is in between both locations (Pupp/Císařské lázně and Thermal). The street is calm and the view is beautiful.
What could be improved: It is little bit oldschool, but everything is clean and comfortable, so it is OK.

What could be improved: Misleading information on site. Some facilities are listed as having an extra charge, others aren't, such as sauna. I was told ALL additional facilities had a charge. Awful coffee (instant) for breakfast.
Great location, very good size of rooms, some services only for extra payment The property has very good location, only a short walk to the main walking street. The rooms on the upper floors have great view of the whole city.
What could be improved: The sauna was switched off and only available upon additional payment of 8 euro per hour. Also the receptionist mentioned that if we want to go to the sauna, we need to pay and let them know minimum one hour in advance so they turn it on for us.
Breakfast was rather simple but tasty and the waiter was very nice and helpful.

What could be improved: The staff mixed up our reservation with another person's of similar name who booked a higher class room but we never got our cash difference back despite assurances to the contrary.
Also the pool is not always accessible, only upon reservation, the staff claims it is Booking.com's mistake that it isn't mentioned in the description.
Anyway, these two things put us off a lot and we shan't return to this accomodation.
Good What could be improved: First night reception messed up and sent other people to our room with the spare room key. Everyone was confused because they did a check in and got keys and so did we but several hours before them. We didn't really feel safe after that. Reception guy did apologize and gave us a bottle of wine as an apology but that doesn't mean it's not worth mention.

What could be improved: From day one not comfortable with the attitude of the restaurant staff. It was very uncomfortable when, after asking that I had only breakfast, they took me to a corner and put me at a separate table. I never used the breakfast after that
I was disappointed. Front desk ladies very nice and friendly, helping with your needs.
Breakfast was good, home making food.
What could be improved: I chose this hotel because it has a swimming pool. However, it was quite difficult to hit. The pool is open according to the schedule and pretty busy, closes at 7pm in the evening.
They charge Euro 8 for an hour but don’t give you a towel for the pool and towels change in the room only after 3 days, which is very surprising!!!
Housekeepers are assertively arrogant.
