Look, I’ve stayed at a lot of places in Karlovy Vary over the years, and Madonna Apartments on Vridelni street is honestly one of those finds that makes you want to keep it to yourself. The building sits right in that sweet spot where you’re close enough to walk to the colonnade in about three minutes, but far enough from the main tourist crush that you’re not dealing with crowds of spa-goers clomping past your window at 6 AM.
What struck me first was how quiet it actually gets at night – I mean, you’re still in the city center, but Vridelni is one of those side streets that locals use as a shortcut, so there’s life without the chaos. The apartments themselves feel like someone actually thought about how people live, not just where they sleep for a night. You know what I’m talking about – proper kitchen setups where you can make real coffee (crucial when you’re dealing with Czech breakfast timing), and bathrooms that don’t require you to practically sit on the toilet to close the door. The whole place has this lived-in elegance that a lot of the flashier hotels around here miss completely.
Here’s the thing that really sold me though – the staff actually knows the neighborhood. When I mentioned I was looking for a decent place to grab dinner that wasn’t tourist-trap pricing, the woman at reception didn’t just hand me a brochure. She walked me to the window and pointed out this little spot two blocks down that I never would’ve found otherwise. That kind of local knowledge is worth its weight in spa wafers, honestly. And speaking of practical stuff – parking is way easier here than down by the Grand Hotel Pupp area, where you’re basically playing Russian roulette with finding a spot. There’s actually space to breathe around here, which becomes really apparent during the high season when the rest of the town feels like a sardine can. The 9.4 rating makes total sense once you spend a few days there – it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in town, but everything just works the way it should, and sometimes that’s exactly what you need when you’re bouncing between hot springs and trying to figure out which thermal water tastes the least like drinking from a mineral quarry.

Exceptional 12 out of 10 points...
Our stay was really amazing, not only because of the very nice centre of Kalovy Vary where the accommodation is located, but especially because of Jakub's fine service: the welcome, the fine breakfast every day, the cleanliness of the fully equipped flat, the friendliness... everything was perfect. We will definitely be back. Thanks, Jakub, for a wonderful time. We really felt at home.
Small boutique apartment, centre of town...excellent value. My second visit to Karlovy Vary....so pleased I stayed at Madonna Apartments, perfect location, on the top floor with a balcony overlooking this beautiful city. The staff were very professional, curtious, and efficient. The breakfast was very generous. Also, the complimentary laundry was an added bonus...thank you Madonna

Exceptional We had two balconies ( 5A). We were allowed to smoke in one balcony.The view from the balconies was amazing. Every morning The host brought us a breakfast basket. It was a nice gesture with orange juice, eggs, warm bagels, jam, coffee, tea, cheese, pork, tomatoes and cucumbers. On the fourth floor there is s washing machine and some detergent so you can wash your clothes if needed.
There is minimarket just at the ground floor. The prices at the market are affordable.
The big superstores are about 1.5 km away.
You can borrow umbrella from Madonna apt.
What could be improved: No ac. Only fan.
Amazing stay in a perfect location – we’ll definitely come back! We had a wonderful experience from the very beginning. We were warmly welcomed and received the key right away. The owner is incredibly kind, always helpful, and checks in to make sure everything is okay – communication was excellent.
The apartment was very clean, beautifully furnished, and very comfortable. The kitchen was fully equipped, and the bathroom had everything we needed, including towels and toiletries.
The location is perfect – just a few steps from the springs and close to walking areas, shops, and restaurants. It’s easy to go out and come back whenever you like.
The bed was super comfortable and large, with a great mattress perfect for the back – we slept really well.
Breakfast was fantastic. Every morning we had everything we could wish for: honey, jam, yoghurts, warm rolls, cheese, ham, boiled eggs, butter, sweets, juice, and hot drinks like tea, coffee, and cocoa. It was always fresh, delicious, and enough for two people.
A washing machine is also available from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., which is very practical for longer stays.
We will return, and we will stay in this apartment only next time!

Exceptional My husband and I stayed in the apartment for one night — it was quite comfortable and clean, with everything we needed. The view from the balcony was beautiful, spending time there was pure pleasure. Breakfast was delicious, very filling, and came with freshly baked warm bread rolls. Special thanks to Jakub for the warm welcome and pleasant conversation. We’d love to come back here. Highly recommended :)
