I stayed during the busy September season when the town fills up with German and Russian visitors doing their thermal cures, and even then, the hotel felt peaceful.

Here’s the thing about location that the booking sites don’t really capture – being on Masaryka means you can walk to everything that matters without dealing with the steep hills that’ll wear you out if you’re doing the full spa town experience. The Imperial Café is right around the corner (their apple strudel is ridiculous), and you’re close enough to the Grandhotel Pupp that you can easily pop over for drinks without paying their room rates. Parking was surprisingly painless too – they’ve got their own garage, which is huge because street parking in Karlovy Vary is basically a nightmare, especially during festival season. The 9.7 rating makes sense once you’ve been there a few days. It’s not flashy or Instagram-perfect, but everything just… works. The kind of place where you’d actually want to stay longer instead of just using it as a base to escape from.
