Salvator Hotel
You know what struck me first about the Salvator Hotel?
You know what struck me first about the Salvator Hotel? It’s actually on Vřídelní street – and if you’ve been to Karlovy Vary before, you’ll know that puts you right in the thick of things without being on the absolute main drag where tour groups cluster around the hot springs every morning. I mean, you’re literally a two-minute walk from the famous colonnades, but you can actually get some sleep at night.
The building itself has this lovely Belle Époque thing going on (honestly, half of Karlovy Vary does, but the Salvator wears it well). When I walked into the lobby, there was this subtle mineral smell in the air – not unpleasant at all, just very… spa town, you know? The front desk staff actually seemed to know the town beyond just pointing tourists toward the nearest souvenir shop. They gave me solid recommendations for restaurants that locals frequent, which is harder to find than you’d think in a place that’s been catering to visitors since the 1800s. The rooms are what I’d call properly comfortable – not trying too hard to be trendy, but everything works and the beds are genuinely good. My room faced the street, and while you do get some foot traffic noise during the day (it’s a pedestrian zone), it quiets down nicely in the evenings. The bathroom was spacious enough that I didn’t feel like I was playing Tetris with my toiletries, and – this matters more than people think – the water pressure was excellent. Actually, given that we’re in a spa town famous for its thermal springs, I sort of expected the hotel to make a bigger deal about water quality, but honestly the regular shower water felt pretty great.
What really sold me on this place was how it handles the whole “we’re in a tourist destination” thing. The breakfast room gets busy around 8:30 when day-trippers start arriving in town, but if you go down earlier or after 9:30, it’s much more relaxed. The staff seems to get that some guests are here for the full spa experience (there are people who come to Karlovy Vary religiously every year for the waters), while others are just passing through on their way to Prague or Vienna. They don’t push the spa treatments too hard, but they’re helpful if you want recommendations for the better thermal baths – and trust me, some are definitely better than others. The location means you can walk to Grandhotel Pupp in about eight minutes if you want to see where they filmed Casino Royale, or head up to the Diana Observation Tower without needing to figure out parking. Actually, speaking of parking – they have a garage, which is genuinely useful because finding street parking in the center can be a nightmare, especially during festival season. It’s not the fanciest place you’ll ever stay, but it gets the balance right between comfort and not feeling like you’re paying for a bunch of amenities you won’t use. For a four-star in Karlovy Vary, the Salvator delivers exactly what it promises.

What Our Guests Say
Exceptional Luxury experience
What could be improved: I don't like i have to pay to use sauna and jacuzzi. Usually hotel facility free for guest
Wonderful Friendly, helpful front desk.
Lovely room.
Excellent location.
What could be improved: Nothing comes to mind.
Exceptional River view from the windows ; wellnes slippers, bathrobe in the room. Wellnes was very good. The cafe was very delicious. In the restaurant the foods were tasty. Perfect location.
What could be improved: Very nice staff, but they could be a little faster and the restaurant too.
Really recommend! Excellent location, probably best in Karlove Vary, well-designed rooms with nice furniture and really clean and comfortable. Also one place where they actually try to speak English. Parking is far from hotel but available- that is also big advantage considering location
What could be improved: Breakfast simply do not meet the standard of hotel, it’s not so bad but considering impression you are getting about hotel over evening and night you kind of expect better breakfast. From another side - hotel is rather small so I suppose it doesn’t make a sense to invest in breakfast too much. Probably combine breakfast with some other hotels - as they often do in Baden?
Very Good What could be improved: We were living in the attic room on the 5th floor, with a nice view on colonnade and the main street. However, internet did not cover our room, but the personnel allowed us to use internet while working in the restaraunt.
So, the main issue is the coverage of internet of the 5th floor. But we really like everything elase and especially - breakfast and personnel.
Wonderful We stayed one night with our granddaughter. The room is excellent and spacious. The staff is kind and tries to help. Personal jacuzzi and sauna upon request.
What could be improved: There is only a problem with parking. It is very difficult to get to the hotel entrance. And the parking is a long way from the hotel.
Exceptional Very nice stylish hotel in the city centre of Karlovy Vary, in the walking distance to the Kolonada. Friendly personnel, nice location, clean and cosy.
Wonderful Very atmospheric beautiful hotel. Nicely fitting into general vibe of the city. We had a very comfortable spacious room with balcony and view on the colonnade. Thus, location is great, although not the closest to bus or train stations if you're taking those types of transport. Room is very well equipped and richly decorated. The staff is very friendly and welcoming.
What could be improved: Only very minor thing was a bit inconvenient for me - the shower head in the bathroom, nowhere to set it on the wall.
I loooove the place, my children loved it too. The entire staff were wonderful, the room was soooo spacious with an extra couch bed, the bathroom was a shower, sooooooo spacious, soooo clean, all right at the city centre, plus I bout a large plate of chicken and chips with mayonaise as dinner for 360czech crowns only, much better than outer restaurants and breakfast was buffet. They have all sorts of Spa service too
What could be improved: Nothing
Staff was very nice and extremely helpful Good location, very cozy, clean rooms, very nice unusual decorations, restaurant on premises
