You know what caught me off guard about Sky Thermal Apartment? The name makes it sound like some massive resort complex, but it’s actually this cozy little place tucked into a regular residential building on Ivana Petroviče Pavlova street. I mean, you’re literally walking up to the fourth floor of what looks like any other apartment building in Karlovy Vary – take the staircase on the left when you get there, by the way. Honestly, I was a bit skeptical at first, but that 8.8 rating isn’t just for show.
The thermal part of the name starts making sense once you settle in and realize you’re basically living like a local in one of the best spa towns in Europe. What I love about this spot is that you’re close enough to walk to the main colonnades and hot springs without dealing with the tourist circus right outside your door. The Tržiště area is actually pretty quiet in the evenings, and you can hear the town winding down rather than that constant buzz of the main drag. The apartment itself feels lived-in in the best possible way – not sterile like a chain hotel, but comfortable and well-maintained. There’s something refreshing about having actual space to spread out, and honestly, after a day of sipping sulfur water and wandering around the spa district, you’ll appreciate having a proper place to decompress.
Here’s the thing about staying in Karlovy Vary that a lot of people don’t think through – parking can be absolutely brutal during festival season (especially when the film festival rolls around), but this location actually works in your favor. The residential street means you’re not competing with day-trippers for spots, and it’s an easy walk down to Teplá River and the main thermal areas. I’d definitely recommend this place if you want that authentic Czech experience without sacrificing comfort. Sure, it’s not going to have a fancy lobby or room service, but you’re getting genuine local flavor and surprisingly good value. The host clearly knows what they’re doing – everything from check-in to local recommendations was spot-on. Just remember to pack light if you’re not great with stairs, because that fourth-floor climb with heavy luggage might leave you needing those thermal baths sooner than expected!

Wir würden die Unterkunft immer wieder buchen. Wir waren zu zweit dort und waren extrem zufrieden. Der Preis ist wirklic Die Unterkunft ist super modern und sehr sauber. Man fühlt sich in dem Zimmer sehr wohl.
Parkplätze stehe direkt neben der Unterkunft zur Verfügung.
Man sollte beachten, dass das Zimmer in der 4. Etage ohne Fahrstuhl liegt. Das ist natürlich kein Problem, aber für den ein oder anderen Gast vielleicht wichtig.
Unsere Ansprechpartnerin war super lieb und hilfsbereit. Innerhalb weniger Minuten hatten wir eine Antwort auf unsere Fragen.
Die Küchenausstattung ist in Ordnung. Wenn man jedoch wirklich etwas kochen will, muss man ggf. eigene Utensilien mitbringen. Es fehlen z.B. kleine Schüsseln, größere Pfannen, Schneebesen, Kelle, Messbecher). Für ein kleines Zimmer ist das aber kein Minuspunkt, nur ein Hinweis für andere Gäste :)
What could be improved: Wir hatten leider Probleme die Unterkunft zu finden. Google Maps hat und mit der Adresse ein bisschen in die Irre geführt. Glücklicherweise hat unsere Ansprechpartnerin schnell reagiert und uns den richtigen Weg beschrieben. Auf dem beigefügten Foto ist der Parkplatz markiert. Blau umkreist ist der Standort, den uns Google Maps angezeigt hat. Der rote Kreis ist der tatsächliche Standort. Vielleicht hilft es ja, falls jemand ähnliche Probleme hat :)
Overall, everything was very good - we really enjoyed our stay! Very convenient location - just 3–5 minutes from the thermal baths and not far from the train station.
The apartment is freshly renovated, very clean, with a nice design and a super comfortable bed.
Great value for the price - definitely recommend!

Wonderful Really clean, modern and well-decorated one room apartment. The kitchen is well equipped and it was easy to check in and check out. And the location was great - it's a good walking distance from the main station and there are taxis nearby.

What could be improved: Not clear door opening instructions ( not the appartment, but outside building doors)- it was writteb only in CZ, but taking into account foreign languages speaking people are being accomodate, would be usefull to translate it in EN.
Very nice apartment located in Karlove Vary city center. Nicely renovated with everything you need for a stay (even tooth paste and tooth cleaning liquid available)! Big bed, nice bathroom and fully equipped kitchen (tea, coffee,sugar, salt, pepper available).
What could be improved: You have to climb to the fourth floor which may be a challenge for some people :)
