Spa Hotel Schlosspark
You know what caught me off guard about Spa Hotel Schlosspark?
You know what caught me off guard about Spa Hotel Schlosspark? It’s tucked away on this quiet stretch of Kolma street, and honestly, I almost walked past it the first time. The building has this understated elegance – not flashy like some of the bigger hotels closer to the main colonnade, but there’s something genuinely welcoming about the way it sits among the trees. The Schlosspark name isn’t just marketing fluff either; you’re actually surrounded by parkland, which means you get that rare thing in Karlovy Vary – genuine quiet, especially in the evenings when the day-trippers have headed back to Prague.
The spa facilities are where this place really shines, and I mean that in the most practical sense. While everyone’s crowding into the public springs downtown, you’ve got access to thermal treatments right here without the circus atmosphere. The staff actually knows their stuff about the different spring waters – they’ll explain why the temperature matters and which treatments work best for what you’re dealing with, rather than just handing you a generic menu. The rooms themselves are solid 4-star territory, nothing revolutionary but properly comfortable with decent soundproofing (important when you’re trying to recover from too much Becherovka the night before). I particularly appreciated the attention to lighting – you can actually read without squinting, and the bathroom mirrors don’t make you look like you’ve been hit by a truck.
What really works about staying here is the location balance. You’re a pleasant 10-minute walk to Tržiště street where the real action is, close enough to wander down for dinner or to people-watch at the Hot Spring Colonnade, but far enough away that you’re not dealing with tour group noise at 7 AM. The breakfast situation is better than expected – proper Czech pastries alongside the usual international stuff, and the coffee is actually decent, which isn’t always a given outside Prague. The 8.5 rating makes sense when you add it all up; it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in town, but everything works the way it should. If you’re coming to Karlovy Vary for the spa experience rather than just ticking it off a list, this feels like a place where you can actually settle in and get the full benefit rather than just passing through.

A wonderfully friendly hotel in a beautiful location A wonderful town and very well placed hotel although a little difficult to get to due to it being so central. Parking was also a little tricky, however, we managed with the friendly help from the staff who directed us to the car park about 10 mins walk away.
What could be improved: only the initial finding of the parking place.
Great place to stay with easier parking than down in the main area Comfortable bed and room, decent amount of space, they gave you bathrobes and slippers. Our room had a little balcony with one chair and table. Good AC. Very good breakfast with hot and cold items, eggs, sausages, beans, oatmeal, mini waffles and pancakes, yogurt and cereals, various good bread and pastries, fruit. Easy 5 min walk downhill to the main part of town. Good parking lot up the hill and around the corner for 13 euros a night.
Nice lady at the front desk with minimal English but good enough.
What could be improved: The shower was extremely small, the bathroom was large so they could have installed a much larger shower, instead the smallest possible, as a 5’6, 125 lb woman I had a hard time, never mind bending over.
The pillows are big and square and take up a lot of space on the bed.
There are a few stairs both up to the front door and to get up to the level with an elevator for the rest.
Beautiful hotel, with loads of facilities and huge rooms The room was very spacious, bed was comfortable, bathroom like the room itself was immaculate. Breakfast was lovely, and the staff very helpful in pointing us in the right direction to see as much as we could during our stay. We turned up during the international film festival so there was a real vibe about the place, plenty of local bars and restaurants within walking distance.
What could be improved: Car parking can be booked however there are only 4 spaces which isn't many for the size of the hotel. The photos are also deceiving it looks like the hotel is on a flat road however access is via a tiny bumpy cobbled street on a really steep incline, we arrived on motorbikes, negotiating the steep incline downwards on what is supposed to be a one way street but met cars head on, not the hotels fault at all but something to take into consideration.
Superb location and nice breakfast The location is superb! Breakfast also nice! There is even a small playroom for small kid and a piano for someone who got talent.
What could be improved: There were so many customers during check in but only one lady works so hard! So it's a super slow check in.
Good The room was comfy, nice buffet brekfast and nice spa.
What could be improved: It was our second visit at this hotel, but this one does not reach the level of the first one. This time most of the hotel employees were not speaking English.
We reserved the room for 4 persons (adults) some monthes before, than announced the hotel well in advance ( inside the changing interval) that we will be only 3 persons (adults) however we had to pay for 4 persons (inclusive the dinner) and got a room with only 3 beds and only 3 dinners. We exlpained the receptionists but they were pretending not to understand the problem. Very, very disapointing!
In our room the bathroom needs updates, especialy the shower.
Wonderful Good condition room.
What could be improved: A few parking place.
