I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Spa Resort Sanssouci on Jarní street, I wasn’t expecting much from the outside. It’s tucked into this quiet residential area about a 10-minute walk uphill from Karlovy Vary’s main spa district, and the building itself has that understated Eastern European elegance that doesn’t scream “luxury resort.” But you know what? That’s actually part of its charm.
The thing about this place is that it gets the spa town experience right without all the tourist circus you’ll find down on the colonnade. I mean, don’t get me wrong – you’ll still want to wander down to see the famous hot springs and maybe catch the film festival crowds if you’re there in July, but there’s something really satisfying about coming back to this quieter pocket of town. The staff here actually know the neighborhood – they’ll tell you which thermal spring tastes the least like sulfur (hint: it’s Mill Colonnade) and where to grab proper goulash that won’t cost you a fortune. The rooms are solid 4-star territory, nothing revolutionary but clean and comfortable with decent bathrooms. Some face the street, others look out toward the hills, and honestly, both are fine since Jarní isn’t exactly a busy thoroughfare.
What really sold me on Sanssouci was their spa setup. Look, Karlovy Vary has thermal springs everywhere, but having your own little wellness sanctuary right in the hotel makes a difference when you’re dealing with Czech weather – which can be pretty unpredictable, even in summer. Their treatments aren’t trying to reinvent the wheel, just good solid European spa work with local thermal water. The breakfast situation is typically Czech-meets-international, so expect decent coffee, various breads and cold cuts, plus some warmer options. Parking can get tight during peak season (basically May through September), but they’ve got a small lot and the staff will help you figure it out. The 7.8 rating feels about right – it’s not going to blow your mind, but it delivers on what it promises without any major disappointments. If you’re the type who needs to be right in the thick of things, this might feel a bit removed, but for most people, that 10-minute stroll to the action is actually perfect. Plus, you’ll sleep better up here away from the late-night festival crowds and tour groups.
To book a hotel in Karlovy Vary during peak spa season, travelers need early planning as this thermal resort draws visitors eager to experience its healing hot springs and elegant Belle Époque architecture.

Surely worth visiting. Nice location, slightly outside of the city. Helpful personnel and nice breakfast. SPA facilities good enough.
What could be improved: Swimming pool not available for kids after 19:00. On some days parking spaces are limited.
Very Good Wellness
What could be improved: Hotel was kind of old
Ask for parking space first! Breakfast was good, beds and pillows too.
What could be improved: The pool was not that clean, the hotel facilities are a bit old. They say they have parking, but we arrived and they said there was no space. We paid almost 30 euros extra in a nearby parking garage. There is a coffee machine in your room, but you have to buy the capsules.
Great value for money. Very nice location, very nice place. There are three buildings in this complex, which are very well connected with underground tunnels. Location is great, and there is a bus which stops directly in front of the property and goes to downtown. Going by foot to the city center is also not so far.
What could be improved: Pool can use some renovation.
Good stay Very good value. Nice and large rooms with a bathtub. Spa and sauna area are also pleasant
What could be improved: Parking costs extra
It was ok but we don't want to come here anymore The staff was ok, and the room was clean. The breakfast was excellent
What could be improved: No coffee and tea in the room, cheep toilet paper, no coffee machine in the hall so if you get up early you need to wait until breakfast to get some, in the room next to our was the baby screaming a lot and we couldn't sleep.
The room looks bigger in the pictures
Wonderful Wonderful food, both breakfast and dinner, nice warm pool and spa zone.
What could be improved: A bit long way to restaurant from green hous

What could be improved: None
