There’s a little grocery shop maybe two minutes’ walk away where the lady behind the counter will patiently help you figure out what you’re buying even if your Czech is nonexistent (mine certainly was). And here’s something I didn’t expect – the hill location means you get these glimpses of the valley and the town spreading out below, especially from the upper floors. It’s not dramatic mountain views or anything, but there’s something satisfying about seeing the spa buildings and the Teplá River winding through town from above. The 9.4 rating honestly doesn’t surprise me – this is the kind of place where small things work properly. Hot water stays hot, Wi-Fi doesn’t cut out every five minutes, and nobody’s vacuuming the hallways at 7 AM. For a three-star place, it punches well above its weight in terms of actually letting you settle in and feel comfortable.
